The Law of Attraction Alone is Like Having One Tire On a Car
I think the law of attraction gets a bad rap. You either love it or hate it. You either think it’s the holy grail, or a bunch of crap. What I believe is that it’s neither. I think the law of attraction alone is just incomplete.
The law of attraction states that like attracts like. We attract in life what we most dominantly think about, consciously and unconsciously. The power of this law also increases when we attach emotion and feeling to it.
As I’ve spent time thinking about it, I’ve come to believe that there are many laws that work in conjunction with other laws. The law of attraction alone is like having one tire on a car. Here are three other laws that, when used in conjunction with the law of attraction, increase our probability of success.
Law of harvest / planting seeds
Any good farmer knows that in order to reap a harvest, seeds need to be planted. Once the seeds are planted, they need to be nurtured through watering and weeding. There are also aspects that are outside of our control, like the amount of sunshine and heat, too much rain, and natural disasters.
Our lives are no different. We go about planting seeds by everything we do. We can plant fruit and tree seeds, or we can plant weed seeds. For me, the success of my day is measured by the amount of good seeds I plant, not by the harvest. I know that when I plant good seeds, the harvest will come. It may not always come when or from where I expect, but it always comes.
Law of the vacuum / emptying the cup
The law of the vacuum states that all material forces in the universe abhor a vacuum, and will rush to fill the void caused by the vacuum. We can create a vacuum in our lives by eliminating those things that no longer serve us, so they can be filled with things that do serve us. A simple example of this is that we no longer hold onto books that we had in third grade because our knowledge has surpassed that stage in our lives, and a third grade book no longer serves us.
In our lives, we can do the same thing. With material items, we can get rid of things that we no longer use, to open up space for new abundance. With our inner lives, we can let go of lower vibration emotions and feelings like guilt, shame and fear, to open up space for higher energy vibration like gratitude, hope, love and joy.
Law of adaptation
As humans, we have learned to adapt. From simple things like wearing coats when it is cold to adapt to our environment, to creating complex technology to assist us with our work, we adapt to our environment.
With the law of attraction, many times, we wish to attract things into our lives that are not congruent with who we are today. In order to bring this goal into our reality, we must change who we are in order to to attract what we want. We get to become a different person in order to attract what we want. That is why the journey is more important than the destination. You can’t shortcut the journey. You may shorten the length of the journey by the amount of energy you place towards the destination, but you always get to adapt who you are in order to become the new person that is aligned with the new desire.
Another powerful way to adapt is to change your environment. By eliminating things in your environment that are not conducive to what you wish to attract, you open up space for that which you desire. Create an environment that supports what you want to attract. Be around people with the same mindset.
A final caution… if you choose to attract something huge and amazing in your life, expect resistance and challenges. When you put a huge goal out to the Universe (or however that happens), you will get challenged to make sure you want what you’re asking for. Most people give up at that time. If you can be persistent, and implement the other laws in addition to the law of attraction, you’ll be surprised at what you accomplish.
